XClipper Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information XClipper (the "App") handles and why.

1. Saved videos and metadata

Saved video files, thumbnails, and metadata such as titles are stored only on your device and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud private database. The developer has no access to this content.

2. Referral system

To provide the invite-code feature, the following is stored on the developer's server (Cloudflare):

An anonymous identifier irreversibly derived from your iCloud account or device (it contains no personal information such as your name or email, and cannot be reversed)
Your invite code, invite counts, and code redemption records
Temporary access information for abuse prevention (daily usage counts per IP address)

This data is used solely to grant referral rewards and prevent abuse.

3. Purchases

All purchases and billing for paid plans are processed by Apple. The developer never receives your name or payment details.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

On the free plan, the App uses Google AdMob to serve optional rewarded ads and banner ads shown within the App. Google may collect device information and advertising identifiers to serve ads. See the Google Privacy Policy and Google Advertising Policies. Users in the EEA and UK are shown a consent screen before ads are served.

If you allow tracking when iOS asks ("Allow App to Track"), personalized ads using the advertising identifier (IDFA) are shown. If you do not allow it, ads are still shown but are not personalized. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

5. Usage analytics

To improve the service, review our pricing plans, and optimize advertising, the App sends the following information to the developer's server (Cloudflare):

The same anonymous identifier described in Section 2
Records of in-app activity (number and outcome of video saves, ad impressions and views, how often and how long the paid-plan screen is shown, and purchases)
The full URL (including parameters) and domain of each page you saved a video from or pasted to save
App version, OS version, language setting, country/region (estimated from the network connection), remaining download count, and paid-plan status

Video files themselves and contact details such as your name or email address are never sent. This information is not provided to third parties except as required by law. It is kept for two years from receipt and then deleted automatically.

You can stop sending this information at any time by turning off Settings → Privacy → "Share Usage Data" in the App. Turning it off also discards any unsent records on your device.

6. Data deletion

On-device data is removed when you delete the App. iCloud data can be managed from your own iCloud settings. To request deletion of data stored on our server by the referral system or usage analytics, contact us below.

7. Changes

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page.
